Back in the good old days we could play video games until the crack of dawn and most of us (if not all of us) did that a few times in our life. I thought those days would last forever and I would keep burning the midnight oil playing games and telling myself, “One more level and then I’ll sleep.”

We’re at a point in time where gaming is becoming closer and closer to reality every day. VR is on the horizon, the PS4 ½ is almost upon us, and every new game boasts top of the line graphics and hyper realism. Why then, am I still happy playing the PS4’s predecessors’ predecessor?

I’ve never actually played Warhammer Fantasy, or Warhammer 40k, in their boardgame form. In fact I know more about the lore of the games than I do the mechanics of it. My knowledge can be summed up in “buy figures, paint them,” but that’s not to say I’m not a fan of the series. I love the lore, I love the characters, I love the atmosphere…

Minecraft is, without a doubt, one of the most popular sandbox games ever. Its simplified graphics, easy to understand gameplay and seemingly endless possibilities make it perfect for anyone; whether you’re a dedicated gamer or a newbie just starting out with something basic. 

Wild is, at its core, a survival game based thousands of years ago when humans didn’t have much of an advantage over everything else around them. It is completely open from the very beginning of the game and you can choose your own path.

Game collecting doesn’t mean trying to collect every game in existence. Not only would that be far too expensive but also nobody wants to have a full collection of EyeToy games.

When I first purchased a PS3 I was so excited. I had worlds upon worlds ahead of me in the form of updated games, graphics and capabilities. As I had no idea what ethernet was during my days on the PS2, the PlayStation 3 would be my first real taste of online play. This excited me beyond belief and I couldn’t wait to get started. What the hell is gamers block?  Gamers block is when you or a friend have either lost interest or just don’t feel like playing a video game, or to make it even more simple, it’s writers block but with video games. 

After spending some time meeting its residents and exploring what they have made, Second Life remains an enigma to me.
