New Call of Juarez Game on the way or will Far Cry 5 be set in the Wild West?

In early 2015, Ubisoft released a poll for players to vote on where they’d like to see the Far Cry series go. Amongst those choices (my personal favourite being “A Far Cry game set in a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic world”) was “A Far Cry game in the Spaghetti Western style set in the 19th century Americas”. After that poll went up Ubisoft seemed to go silent on the matter, later releasing Far Cry Primal to a very “meh” reception.

HOWEVER, skip forward two years (to 2017 in case you were wondering), where Montana News source Great Falls Tribune have reported seeing a production crew filming near a Montana prairie church. The producer of the shoot is none other than Jeff Guillot, former producer of past live-action trailers for Ubisoft titles (such as Raving Rabbids, Driver and Red Steel).

When approached about the mysterious production, Guillot claimed that the shoot “stretched more than 5,000 miles from California to Montana”, and the scenery seems to suggest that this would be for a Western-style project and Guillot also revealed that this will be a “a sequel to an existing global franchise”.

Due to Guillot’s past repertoire with Ubisoft it would be safe to assume that this is a live-action trailer for a brand new Ubisoft title in either one of two franchises. Could we be seeing a brand new addition to the Call of Juarez franchise, or could this be the “Spaghetti western style” that Ubisoft teased back in the 2015 poll?

Only time will tell, and since Guillot also revealed that the project was for a game to be released in September later this year, we should be seeing some final product around E3 Week (especially at the Ubisoft Press Conference).

What do you think, do you want to return to the Gunslinging action of Call of Juarez, or can you barely wait to go search for whatever constitutes as a Radio Tower in the Old West. Comment down below or tweet us at @Twisted_Bard or me at @ReelJordiSteel!
