Best Fallout 4 Weapons

The array of weapons is vast in the Fallout franchise and in Bethesda’s latest instalment, Fallout 4, the number of available weapons dwarfs all other previous versions of the game.

The same also goes for the number of unique and bizarre weapons that can be acquired in Fallout 4.  From firing a Railway Spike into the side of an enemy and nailing them to a wall all the way to firing a teddy bear at an enemies head resulting in their head exploding. As expected the PC community have modded pretty much all of weapons in the game already and have made some truly epic weapon mods.

Spending around 50 hours or so in game and will you come across some pretty interesting weapons, and even then you will not have come across all of the weapons in this massive game. Below are some of the best weapons that can be found or bought within Fallout 4, including some of the modded PC weapons that the Master Race have created.

Kremvh’s Tooth

This epic looking sword deals 47 damage along with a small amount of poisoning (only 3) to your enemy. Paired up with the Blitz and Big Leagues perk, you’re going to have some serious range and damage with this melee weapon. Its most effective for ghouls and lower level raiders but not so much for the higher level enemies such as the Mutants, Forged, Scavengers etc.

Obtaining this sword is a bit tedious as you have to make your way to Dunwhich Borders. Once there, head to the entrance to the site which is located in one of the corners of Dunwhich, and go through the cave till you reach the end. Be warned however, there are loads of raiders and ghouls so go prepared and properly equipped.

Le Fusil Terribles

This shotgun deals severe damage to your opponent when up close and on top of that, deals 25% more damage/limb damage to the enemy. A lot of people complain about the recoil, but who uses a shotgun fromlong distances? When you’re point blank in the enemies face, recoil doesn’t matter and V.A.T.S will essentially get rid of any recoil that you don’t want to control.

You’ll come across this weapon during the Synth Retention quest in Libertalia.

Spray n’ Pray

When buying this weapon for the first time, you’ll think, “Was it worth it for the amount of caps I just spent.” As soon as you pull the trigger and see this guns amazing firing rate and range, along with exploding bullets (15 points worth of damage and splash damage) you’ll love this sub machine gun like no other.

The downside about this weapon is how fast you’ll see the .45 ammo count go down to 0.

Furious Power Fist

This version of the Power Fist comes with a Puncturing mod and deals increased damage after each consecutive hit on the same target. It deals a very respectable 50 damage to the enemy, which for a melee weapon is brilliant as some rifles, pistols and energy weapons don’t deal that much damage. Like Kremvh’s Tooth, using this weapon with Blitz and Big Leagues will grant you this melee weapons maximum damage.

You can obtain this melee weapon by defeating Swan who is located at Swan’s Pond, which is located just east of Diamond City in the built up area. You’ll also come across this location on the Road to Freedom quest, which can be relatively early on in the game.

Overseer’s Guardian

Combat Rifles are probably the most versatile type of weapon in the Commonwealth. Doing a mediocre 55 damage, the Overseer’s Guardian shoots an additional projectile making it very lethal. And as standard, comes with an Armour Piercing Automatic Receiver, Long Barrel, Recoil Compensating Stock and a Night Vision Scope. This rifle is bought almost fully upgraded. The receiver can be upgraded to do even more damage but suffers in the firing rate department. An ideal weapon for gunning down any type of enemy you may come across in Fallout 4.

You can buy this weapon from Vault 81 at the depot for a couple thousand caps depending on your Charisma. Worth every cap.

Broadsider

Now this weapon is extremely unique as it literally is a cannon. But unlike your standard cannon, this a handheld cannon. Held like the Chainsaw from Doom, this beast does a whopping 108 damage and has an absurd range of 203! Acquired from doing the USS Constitution quest, this weapon is brilliant at dispatching foes from a distance. The only drawback with this weapon is the lack of ammo in the Commonwealth, as expected. Cannonballs are as hard as to find as the Bobblehead’s.

The Broadsider is the answer to that age-old question: “Would it be fun to walk around and shoot people with a portable naval canon?” Yes. Yes it would.

Last Minute Rifle

One of the most powerful weapon in the game, aside from the Heavy Weapons like the Fat Man and its bigger brother the Big Boy, this gun does over 200 damage as standard. Unfortunately the Last Minute Rifle cannot be upgraded to do even more damage, but most definitely doesn’t need it. Heading over to the Weapons Workbench, this weapon can be made more accurate by sticking on a scope of your preference. You do have to spend thousands of caps to acquire this weapon but it is worth it.

The Last Minute is a charging type weapon, so in order to do  maximum damage without heading into V.A.T.S, hold down the trigger until the counter at the back of the gun reads 99 and then release to unleash hell on the poor soul that happens to be at the end of the barrel.

You may have noticed that the list above does not contain any modded weapons that the PC community have created. The list above is intended to be about the best weapons that are found/bought in the game. Most people consider “modded” weapons in games to be ‘cheap’ and ‘frustrating’, but, seeming as though Fallout 4 isn’t one of these FPS games that is riddled with pre-pubescent kids, Fallout 4’s mods are extremely cool.

Created by modder LucasGod, “Any Mod Any Weapon” is a mod that allows the player to put ANY attachment on ANY gun. Yes, that is cool.

Here are a couple of  crazy examples of what you could potentially create with this ridiculous mod:

Electrified Triple Barrel Minigun

The name speaks for itself as does the picture. Attached is the electrification module from the Junk Jet, the Combat Shotgun’s Long Scope and the Combat rifle’s Long Light Barrel. Combining all those mods together completely destroys even Legendary enemies in a matter of seconds.

Fluted Triple Barrel Target Seeking Fatman

Lock onto target. Look away. Fire. Get XP. Doesn’t really need much more explaining than that really. And just look at this weapon! Contains elements from the Broadsider, Junk Jet, Laser Musket, and the Missile Launcher. I hope Bethesda are paying attention to these epic creations…
