Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy plot details leaked

New details concerning the plot for the new Guardians of the Galaxy game by detail have been revealed (maybe accidentally) by GameSpot.  On the pre-order page for the game it has the following summary:

“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series delivers a brand new story of the universe’s unlikeliest heroes, the rag-tag band of outlaws who go by the names Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. In the wake of an epic battle, the Guardians discover an artifact of unspeakable power. Each of the Guardians has a reason to desire this relic, as does a ruthless enemy who is the last of her kind, and who will stop at nothing to tear it from their hands.

“From Earth to the Milano to Knowhere and beyond, and set to the beat of awesome music, this five-part episodic series puts you in the rocket-powered boots of Star-Lord in an original Guardians adventure, told in the unique and award-winning Telltale style, where your decisions and actions will drive the path of the story you experience.”

So it looks like this will be a completely original story for the GOTG, and reveals you will be taking control of the decisions of Peter Quill, the leader of the rag tag group of outlaw heroes (and not a mix of the Guardians as this writer had expected), and they will facing up against a mysterious villainess who is the last of her kind, and there could be some love loss with the group itself.  It is still to be seen whether or not this version of the Guardians will be for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or one more likened to the Comic Book version, or even a cool mixture of both.  It looks like it will be taking the soundtrack concept from the films.

All we now need is a trailer.

I am very excited for this game, I love all of Telltale’s products, especially Tales from the Borderlands which I am expecting this to be comparable to, in a good way ( a good sci-fi comedy with great original whacky characters).

What do you think?  Are you excited for this, could you not be less bothered, or do you have to wait for the trailer to come out before making any judgements?  Please comment down below or tweet me at @ReelJordiSteel to give me your opinion.
