Sony just announced that the long rumored “Ps4.5” is launching later this year for $399 USD. Sony showed off many games such as Insomniac’s Spiderman and new footage of Mass Effect Andromeda in 4k and HDR. The Ps4 Pro has an upgraded GPU with a boosted clock rate and a 1TB HDD. Existing games can also take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s extra power if the developers so choose via an online patch. While the 4K and HDR definitely looks great it also is going to boost the visual fidelity on a standard HDTV. So for those of us who are too cheap to get a 4K TV there is still some reason to upgrade. Netflix and YouTube are also planning on releasing 4K apps specifically for the PS4 Pro. The PlayStation 4 Pro launches on November 1oth to the not-so-terrible price of $399.
